We all love finding a great new resource to use with our students and school community.

Well, I got one for you to check out today!  It is called Flocabulary and it is one of the most engaging, creative, and fun websites out there.

And most of all....

It gets our young people excited about learning through music and movement!  They love it!
To make Flocabulary even more exciting right now you can sign up to receive a 90 Day FREE Trial for your entire school.
At the end of January, I wrote a post titled Look What Flocabulary Has For All Of Us!  A Free 90 Day Trial!

Today, I want to share a little bit more about this trial and Flocabulary to make sure no one misses out on this amazing opportunity.
All you have to do is go to this link on the Flocabulary site and sign up your entire school for a 90 day free trial.

With this you will receive access to hundreds of educational hip-hop videos to engage, inspire and teach; research-based activities for enrichment, test prep and more; a Common Core guide to help meet your objectives; and UNLIMITED access for ALL teachers and students, grades K-12.

Now let me tell you a few of the amazing things that Flocabulary will bring to you.

Flocabulary is a great place to teach about primary sources.
Each week Flocabulary creates a video called The Week In Rap.

I love sharing these as a way to learn about what happened in the world during the last week.  Not only is a fun way to highlight current events, The Week In Rap gets kids moving and rapping too.
Within each This Week In Rap, there are several wonderful teaching tools included....key terms, printable activities and assessments, and more lesson resources to get you started and dig deeper into using these great videos each week with your students.
I used the Writing Academic Rhymes with my 6th graders and we created our own raps about being a digital citizen and being safe online.  It was so much fun....One of their favorite projects of the year.

There are also Challenge Questions, Interactive Lyrics, and Fill In The Blanks can all be found at the top of each page which students and teachers can access.
The Interactive Lyrics provide direct links to reputable new stories each week.
When I clicked on the first highlighted, direct link from the Interactive Lyrics, this story popped up.

I love how Flocabulary asks the readers a questions such as, What qualities do you think a dog needs in order to win a dog show?
At the bottom of the pop-up box, there is a link that takes the reader directly to the news story....such as the one above.

These will bring a rich classroom discussion and inspires young people to dig deeper into research, connecting to primary sources and the things we want them to learn.

Also, connecting them to the things they want to learn.
Along with these news stories, you can use other videos from Flocabulary such as Source Evaluation video and...
our Research Process video. This helps teachers connect to the Common Core and other important standards.
So today if there is one thing you do to bring something AWESOME to your students, classrooms, libraries and schools....

Sign up for the FREE TRIAL OF FLOCABULARY and check it out for yourself!  I can't wait to see what you and your student think too.
